Kazakhstan and Japan Strengthen Cooperation in Environmental Protection

During the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, K.K. Tokayev, to Japan, which took place from December 17 to 20, 2025, a series of agreements were signed to advance bilateral cooperation in environmental protection, climate research, and forest fire prevention.

On December 20, 2025, during a business forum in Japan, a trilateral Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC “NC Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary,” and Chuo University (Japan). The agreement aims to develop joint research on greenhouse gas emissions, including the application of modern scientific and technological solutions.
