JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary" and the Kenya Space Agency Sign a Memorandum of Understanding

On May 20, 2026, at the Palace of Independence, during the official welcoming ceremony for the President of Kenya, William Ruto, who arrived in Kazakhstan on a state visit, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the presence of the Heads of State between JSC “National Company “Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary” and the Kenya Space Agency in the field of space science, technology and applications.

The document was signed by Kaiyrzhan Kozhayev, Chairman of the Board of JSC “National Company Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary”, and Brigadier General Hillary Kipkosgei, Director General of the Kenya Space Agency.

President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, underscored the strategic significance of the signed documents. Noting that Kenya is widely recognized as the “Silicon Savannah” of Africa, the Head of State expressed Kazakhstan’s readiness to share advanced practices in e-government and modern banking infrastructure, as well as to expand cooperation in the fields of artificial intelligence and space technologies.

The signed Memorandum opens new opportunities for strengthening long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation between Kazakhstan and Kenya in the space sector.
