History of creation
Joint Stock Company “National Company” “Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary” (hereinafter – JSC “NC KGS”) was established in accordance with the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated March 17, 2005. In accordance with the Decree of the Government dated December 13, 2016 No. 795, the Company was determined by the National Operator of the Earth Remote Sensing Space System (hereinafter referred to as the ERS CS) of the Republic of Kazakhstan, consisting of high and medium resolution spacecraft KazEOSat-1 (with a resolution of 1 m) and KazEOSat-2 (with 6.5m resolution) to provide space images to individuals and legal entities, as well as the National Operator of the High-Precision Satellite Navigation System (hereinafter referred to as HPSNS) to implement the tasks of providing satellite navigation services throughout the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At present JSC “NC KGS” is actively implementing systems of space and navigation monitoring, satellite images of high and medium spatial resolution from Kazakhstan’s KazEOSat-1,2 satellites are used everywhere. Starting from 2018 JSC “NC KGS” provides space monitoring service to solve a number of industry-specific tasks of the economy.
Over the past years, Kazakhstan has continued to strengthen its status in the space industry, increasing the interest of the world community in Kazakhstani products. Another step in this direction is the commissioning of the assembly and test complex for spacecraft (hereinafter referred to as the CAT CS). CAT CS is a joint project of the Company and “Airbus Defense and Space” with the aim of creating a technological and production base in Kazakhstan for the design, manufacture, assembly and testing of spacecraft, payload components and elements of space technology.
Participation in the development and implementation of current, long-term intersectoral programs in the field of space activities of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
Introduction of space technologies aimed at solving the socio-economic problems of Kazakhstan;
Carrying out experimental design work to create space systems and complexes.
The company ensures the attraction of orders and their distribution among its subsidiaries and affiliates, created by product lines and functions:
1. design, assembly and testing of space vehicles and components of space technology;
2. operation of ERS CS and provision of ERS CS;
3. operation of the ground infrastructure of the high-precision satellite navigation system, provision of navigation services.
The Company, realizing the importance of corporate governance, pays great attention to the implementation of corporate governance principles. The Company approved the Corporate Governance Code. The Company strives to establish a balance of interests of the Sole Shareholder, the Company's management and stakeholders, while the Company's corporate governance system includes the interaction of several levels of the corporate ladder at once: the Sole Shareholder, the Board of Directors, the Company's executive body and similar management bodies of subsidiaries and affiliates.
The Company’s quality management system is certified for compliance with the requirements of the international and Kazakhstani standards (ISO 9001 and ST RK ISO 9001)
In 2007, a consultative and advisory body was established – the Technical Committee for Standardization “Space Activities” TC 66.
Ghalam LLP is a Kazakh-French joint venture established in order to implement a project to create an Assembly and Test Complex for Spacecraft (SCAS) and its further operation under a partnership agreement between Kazakhstan and France in 2010.
Founders: from the Kazakh side – JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary” (72%) – Aerospace Committee of the ICRIAP RK (0.5%), from the French side – the company “Airbus Defense & Space SAS” (27.5%).

CJSC International Space Company Kosmotras was founded in 1997.
The main goal of the activity: the implementation of the program of the Russian Federation on the use of decommissioned RS-20 rockets for launching spacecraft into low Earth orbit.
In December 2010 JSC “NC “Kazakhstan Gharysh Sapary” has a share of 10% of shares.
